So it's nearing the end of May... which to most people in my profession (education) means that a year is gradually coming to an end, much as a leaf might drift to the ground or a paper airplane gently glide to its rest.
Not for band directors.
Currently I am in the midst of one of our most stressful times of year - with concerts, auditions, planning, and year-end-inventory all staring at me like a pack of vigilante goblins in knock-off sunglasses.
To make matters worse, it's mostly gorgeous in Houston right now... which always makes me want to stop, wool-gather, daydream, dawdle, and other such creative things. That, sadly, will have to wait until sometime in June.
C'est la vie.
Off to watch some Narnia.
Good old escapism - you are my oldest, and truest, friend.

I hear you on the weather. It figures the nicest weather I have experience in Michigan coincides with the time I have to stay in my office to work.
Why can't I write all the marching band shows when there is snow on the ground??!
