I am a huge fan of Neil Gaiman, and am quite excited that his particular brand of twisted, dark humor is being paired with one of the three great driving forces behind Nightmare Before Christmas (the other two being Tim Burton and Danny Elfman).
Needless to say, that this film will be in 3D is just an added bonus. Very, very cool.

Freude, freude...
I definitely had one of *those* moments today on my way home from work.
After spending 15 hours at school, I pile into my car at about 9:45pm (after counting untold thousands of raffle tickets and meal tickets for our big band booster fundraiser this coming weekend). I was owl-y, grumpy, tired, and sore from doing my thing all day... so I turn on the NPR affiliate in Houston to see if there's anything worth listening to.
Now, KUHF after 7pm is generally fluff classical that I don't have the energy to listen to, so this was a chancy bet at best... but I always take it. Glad I did tonight.
They were definitely playing one of the concerts I would have killed to see live - Daniel Barenboim conducting one of his final performances with the Chicago Symphony. There were a series of several concerts, held in June of 2006, the final of which was Beethoven's Symphony No. 9... which was the concert I was lucky enough to hear tonight.
Seriously, how can you not be happy when listening to the best orchestra in the world, led by one of the best conductors, play one of the greatest pieces of all time?
I mean, really.
Amazing.
